Heniff is an OK company, the pay is good, the benefits are good enough for me. So far hasn't been too much BS, but there are things that I feel Superior did a lot better. Basically the PE that owns Heniff divided up the tank wash, maintenance, and the terminal into seperate entities and runs them as seperate businesses and that has led to some issues to put it diplomatically.
I've been doing mostly our regional stuff, so maybe 3-5 nights in the truck doing two runs. My ytd average is around $1650 gross/week (percentage pay), May was busy and I did just a tick over $8k, I figure even if it slows down I'll have no problem grossing 80k for the year.Weeble Kneeble, 77fib77, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -
To add to the op's original question: just a thought.
Do we feel chemical or food grade more "recession proof"? so to speak. I do chemical but wonder about food grade latelySpeed_Drums Thanks this. -
I don't see food grade slowing down, people always need to eat. I've seen mention of a slow season for various chemicals depending on manufacturing etc, but there is no slow season for dairy and juice. People drink that stuff everyday.

CHS's wages are lower than others but they have some dang good benefits and treat you good. Start at .46 a mile but most your work is hourly which starts at 26 an hour with overtime over 40 hours. I'm home almost every night and the equipment in newer and well cared for. Health/dental costs my family 234 a month. Really good insurance that covered all but $312 of my son's birth as well as me getting a week paid paternal leave. Decent 401k. Overall pretty good company on the transportation side, not sure about the co-ops though.

From what I have seen in advertising, some companies offering high pay currently, at least in some markets, are Transwood, Oakley, Schwerman, Highway, Quest/Foodliner, Venezia (relocation program).
