I converted 3 of mine. ‘89, ‘91 and ‘94. They all have Brakesaver rads in them and the frame on that rad made it easy to stack the condensor with the cac. The part that had me savage was at the time I could buy a faux-densor to make a new truck look like an older one, but couldn’t get a functional grilledensor so they got MacGyvered. The only real pia was getting the new hoses made up.

Grilldenser was designed for R12. Need to just bite the bullet and get a new style.

Sandens and 134a seem to be the way to go. Something I learned, loading the system to 2lb like KW says I was changing compressors every year to 18mths. We leave them down an ounce or two now and it drops the high side pressures enough the compressors last for years and they still blow cold.
