I was on Dexilant for about 6 years. Originally, I had ulcers from taking too many Aleve tablets. Never had heartburn at all—until I tried to get off the Dexilant. Then it was awful. But after 6 months, I’m finally able to not have heartburn 99% of the time, even if I eat spicy things. You should not be on a proton pump inhibitor for years. It does damage to your stomach. I finally got off that, but over the last couple of years I have had issues with animal protein. Until recently, it was just steak. Then it progressed. But, at least it had made me eat healthier!

Dropped my trailer this morning at 11am in Bridgewater Va. had a deadhead move back to the yard. It turned out to be a bobtail move because there was no empties. I had my reload assigned to me yesterday afternoon. Got to the yard about 2:30, got the truck washed, hooked the trailer at the loading dock and noticed it was out of inspection, 2 tires on the right rear axle looked like it was dragged from Roanoke to Richmond, and a couple other issues addressed and I was hitting 95 at 4:30. On my way to Des Moines Iowa, Sioux Falls SD, Seattle and Tacoma WA, and final Thursday in Prineville Oregon. 3590 mile trip with 5 extra stop offs. When I get back from this go around, I’ll be headed home for 10 days. Have a few things to take care of at the house that requires my presence.

These loads are what I call lazy man loads. 6 days to get all the drops off and big miles. All I do is drive. The drops, of which the shippers have been all the same over the last 9 years, are pretty easy. It’s about 50/50 loading dock and tailgate.

Was told yesterday that because of fuel, they are packing freight into less trucks, which means big miles and more drops. They’re suppose to be setting these up to be done in a week. Usually I have 3/4 of a trailer, sometimes a half. This one is loaded to the very back. When I first got my chauffeur’s license in ‘78, this was how I cut my teeth, LTL throughout the 5 boroughs of the big mean city. Usually had 8-10 drops, all city driving. This is the same but with wide open spaces thrown in.

Woke yesterday to my AC not blowing, was miserable trying to sleep last night in Albuquerque. Getting unloaded here in Phoenix then breakdown told me to head to the Knight yard to get fixed. Hopefully they can fix it. Probably the blower motor Im guessing.

I got a 21 Volvo 860 with 272K on the clock. I decided to stay in the 21 thinking it would be a little safer from breaking down to a degree being it has been broken in some plus Ive never had much luck when given a nee truck anyway, either breaking down or some idiot driving or backing into me.

Good thing we are allowed to park on the Knight yard here in Phoenix if need a spot to park. No parking spots open at the Flying J or Loves. Managed to snag a paid spot at the J to get a shower and some Denny's then had to go back to the Knight yard because that J will kick you out if parked in a paid spot without a receipt in your windshield. Did most of 34 on the Knight Yard here.
