Good Night From II

Not for some time probably.
We are putting off the pictures until the sun is shining. It is raining today and tomorrow.
Can't really show off the truck in these conditions.

 

otaY Mesa terminal.
left beaver ut this morning to tcall load in jurupa terminal.
sat for 45 minutes around mm105 in Nevada due to a 4wheeler rolled over due to being rear-ended.
tcalled the load and no load yet
so went home.
about half hr later dl sent me a load to pick up near here and wasn't to happy.
so ended up waiting till 0700 to start a split sleeper.
didn't think I would make it down here since it's Friday and start of memorial weekend.
but no traffic to speak of and made it with 10 minutes to.spare.
had a rough week with alot of delays.
hopefully will have no issues beside time for this trip

 

When I got to the Sam's Club for a live unload today I had a nice surprise.
I was their 5th delivery today and they had no mt's available, and it wasn't a live unload.
So drop it next to the building and bobtail out, which was fine with me because my next Home Depot load requested that I bobtail in for the pickup.
It saved me the trouble of dropping my mt at the Gary terminal.

My plan was to stop at the Love's in Gary so I could get a shower, but when I got there the store had been totally demolished.
Not there anymore, but the fuel pumps still seem to be working.

I ended up at the Love's near Joliet, IL on I-55.
I got the last bobtail spot and there was no wait for a shower.
1630 on a holiday Sunday... how lucky is that?!

Yup... A pretty good day.

 

I seem to remember seeing something about a fire at that Love's ... I normally go to the Petro ...

 

My Home Depot load had to be voided today because they used an intermodal trailer.

 

Got a Costco load up to Fargo, ND and the same thing happened as the last time I got up here.
Too many trucks in line to get me unloaded today (it should have been a 1600 drop) so I'll have to come back in the morning.

this week not any better.
loads been hard to get.
sent down to commerce Tuesday to pick up a load. blew a tire on 15n as I passes the sb weigh station at mtn pass. limped to Yates wells rd to get to a safe place.
took 2 hrs sitting. didn't get to beaver ut till midnite
other driver brought an Mt trailer since both loads they gave him were overweight. the Denver drivers won't get it reworked so they just leave it for the next otrv driver.
sat till 9am Thursday and got sent for a 11am live load in cypress ca.
heavy traffic and was .5 late had to wait till they got back to lunch. but really no delays loading.
just alot of traffic.
made it to weigh station in Utah for my ten. again arrived there at midnite. . got to beaver this morning at noon and got here around 2015.
decided to stay in truck tonite since just gonna eat and go to bed.
pheonix finally cracked down and said we are not to bring any Mt trailers anymore. if no loads then no work.
no load yet for the weekend trip.

 

I went back at 0715 this morning and was told that there were 4 trucks in front of me so it might be late afternoon when they might get to me.
Then he reconsidered when it seemed like he realized that I had been waiting since yesterday, or he remembered that he had that mt trailer.
He said that once he got the truck in door 4 unloaded I could drop my load and take the mt in door 3.
I was out at 0930.

And here it is at 2130 and still no next load.
Saturday night and I have around 1300 miles for the week.

Yup, I guess loads are hard to come by right now.
Short mile loads, and these Costco loads are eating too much time as well.

 

if your appointment was 1600 and you got unloaded the next day at 930 you should request 19 hours of detention pay. If the next load doesn’t pick up before 930 ask for a day of layover too.

 

I rarely have to ask. My DM/TM keeps up on those things pretty well.
