that's the thing, they are such cowards and cannot do it alone, they need help in killing themselves. such as "suicide by cop" as well.

of course too, this driver will have an accident on his record, with a death. when he goes for another job, he will need documents to back up his claim he was involved in a suicide by vehicle, not in any actual accident.

the driver may have issues because of this, and i hope his company benefits pay for it.

I worked in the casino industry in Las Vegas for many years as a dealer before becoming a truck driver. Suicides by jumping off casino parking garages in Vegas is fairly common. Gambler goes on tilt and gets completely broke by the casino(s) playing table games or slots, finds the nearest multi story parking garage and jumps off, headfirst. The police will show up and process the scene but local media will not show up or report it, it’s damaging publicity for the city’s chief industry. Pretty cold huh? Las Vegas eats the weak

Everytime you climb into the cab could be that day. For most it never happens but for a few it's a life changing event. There's no reason to go into details of a fatality accident but you either get back in the cab or you quit. It took me 2 months to return to driving. But it's never went away.

Simple, CDL life is pro truck driver and will twist the story anyway that makes them feel good..

They linked the original story in their article and twisted theirs, lol.

Fact is, if the guy didn’t leave a suicide note, it’ll never be listed as one. I did some reading awhile back about about the subject and found it very interesting.

I was a workers' comp adjuster. One of my files was a guy who hit someone who ran onto the other side of the freeway after causing a collision, then stood in front of my injured driver. My guy had been able to shut it down enough to not kill him, but even putting him in the icu was enough to cause my driver to become TTD, and perhaps TPD!

He had a drug problem after this, and I stopped working there before his file was closed.

These guys who say "never depart from your lane, even if there are kids in the car are fools! As unfair as it may seem, you're almost better off getting killed than killing somebody.

I posted this article a few years back.

Suicide by truck data isn’t officially tracked. What does get counted is likely underreported because when a victim of suicide by a moving vehicle leaves no note, the death often is ruled an unavoidable accident.

Suicide by truck often is lumped in with statistics for pedestrian or auto suicide. In 2013 (the most recent year for complete statistics), that category accounted for only 167 of all 41,149 suicides in the United States.

what does TTD and TPD mean..??

and no, sorry, i cannot sacrifice my life for someone else's.

i got family as well, that would endure hardships if i was ever to have died for someone else's mistakes.

There are two categories of temporary disability benefits: temporary total disability (TTD) and temporary partial disability (TPD, also known as “wage-loss TD”). Both are payments to compensate for lost wages while you are recovering from your injury or illness.

Sometimes you have to depart your lane, but you better be sure it's safe to do so.

Had a close one a while back where it was either 'swerve' or kill a couple brain dead pedestrians. Just glad I knew there was no one in the other lane.
