Anybody have any opinion on these trucks? As far as if there’s any issues with the way they are going about the titling. Apparently they’ve been working with the DOT and reassigning the title somehow. Giving the trucks a different vin that has 0000 in the vin where true gliders GGGG. They are taking emission engines out and installing Cats.

Nebraska has a deal where if you replace a major component (like an engine) you can get what’s called an “assembled” title. Not sure what that means in your home state but it’s probably not much better than a salvage title in some cases. Last I heard they can’t get the computers to play nice when it comes to Cat swapping a new truck with the digital dash. I seen they had an ad looking for 389’s with under 600k miles on them.

Got it, thanks. I just don’t want to buy one then get it titled in my state, North Carolina, and find out I’ve just purchased something that I can’t get my money back out of!

I’d definitely ask your home state how they would handle the title situation. They might not even care one way or the other.Vampire and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Wonder how that works with ELogs, it's not a true glider so I'm guessing not technically ELog exempt?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

I’m sure they say the engine is old enough to be exempt.
Edit: they do.

Gotta Love that.

I know they advertise them that way. Wondering if the old DOT sees them as legally a glider and covered under that exemption.Vampire and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Beautiful rigs but l would want a new 579 or T680 Next Gen with a Series 60.
I wonder if they can build it.D.Tibbitt, Vampire, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Doubtful. I heard this place put a Cat into a new 389 with the digital dash and after they did the swap the truck wouldn’t even turn over. Plus I heard through the grapevine that the local dealerships said they could no longer reprogram cab modules and stuff for him because they didn’t want to get in trouble.D.Tibbitt, Vampire, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.
