Okie as i was driving down the 10 on saturday. I saw a dodge puckup with 2 antennas. but they wherent just ordinary cb antennas. he had them ontop of this round black thing then the wilson 1000. I also saw a motorhome with this same setup. I was wondering wat they had the antenna mounted to???

well if they were magnetic mount antennas, i would say that they custom made a plate to mount them to so they would not damage the paint.
some people have custom mounts made for them. so, seeing something that may be strange is just an item then custom made for themselves. -
If they were on the roof more than likely he drilled a hole in the roof so he can co-phase them. The round halo thing is a Wilson ground plane you could put on the Wilson antenna's.

I'd be curious to know how the CB cable was run from the antenna to the back of the radio or what type of cable they used. When we installed ours we used a mount and passed the antenna through. It was a pain b/c the size of the terminator on the cable was really big. I needed a mini connector and finally found a Firestik that had a small one. The mounting was the easy part. I also had tons of extra cable but was able to store it. Next time I'll just let someone else do it.
