do you have to enter the UPS van and retrieve your package or does the UPS guy come to your door to deliver it.

I could love to unload the trailer quickly and keep the the lumper fees, thereby saving my 14/70 clock. but the dock mafia controls the dock and equipments.
so things will be same as always. -
If youre going to tell me im wrong, how about explaining exactly why it makes good sense, you seem to be in possession of this treasured knowledge, but prefer to just tell people theyre wrong with nothing to back up your assertion.
There is a time and place for lumping and fees, even in trucking today, but those are exceptional edge cases, not the norm. For the vast majority of cases, the time for it was years ago, and the place for it was decentralized bulkbreaking in warehouses that served many other companies, not dcs that exclusively serve their own stores. -
My arguement isnt that lumping and their fees dont exist or should not exist accross the board, its that the archaic way in which they used to function 40 years ago when there was no better way to do things has no place in 99% of the places they are used.
Cash or physical efs/comcheck only?
Filtering through 4 hands instead of being directly addressed by the receiver who ultimately pays anyway and actually contracts with the lumping "company"? Preposterous
I dont get a say in how other people run their buisness, true. I can still tell them when I encounter ridiculous models exactly how stupid they are. -
I only do the actual workWasted Thyme and tarmadilo Thank this. -
Ive never been shot, but the internet says its not a fun time, maybe theyre 100% wrong and im missing out

In the last year I’ve had to pay cash or have a physical check for a lumper exactly zero times. Click the link on your phone and pay, then go in and get your bills.
tarmadilo Thanks this. -

But for the driver it ultimately doesn't matter. Since it never comes out of our money.
I've been off the road for the last year. Dealing with cancer. Should be back out there by the first of the year. But I dealt with lumper fees all the time.
The only inconvenience drivers have is if company, calling dispatch for the EFS code and getting a receipt, and o/o getting a receipt.
If that was too difficult for you. Then I can't imagine how you handle the really stressful parts of the job. -
