For some reason, people have a hard time accepting defeat, even in the most insignificant situations. These 2 wanted to see who's schlong was bigger and thay could have been costly.

Well, they both need clubbed. The red truck is apparently an idiot, and did something prior that pissed off the white truck. White truck then attempts to pass which may have started in a legal passing zone. Then the red truck speeds up - the ultimate dick move. So the white truck, instead of backing off and falling in behind, forces his way over. Total clown move.

Red truck appears to have suffered some damage, as evidenced by the bump and then the hood sitting a tad crooked. He got what he deserved for speeding up.

Both need pulled from the cab and beat mercilessly.

Could have been and likely will be.

Seems the red truck was heavier and was slow due to a hill. White truck caught up quick and attempted to pass just at the end of a passing lane as the road levelled out and red truck was getting speed back.

The thing that gets me (besides the idiotic, unprofessional actions of both) is that the dude with the dash cam thought it a good idea to post his/her dangerous behavior on social media.

Now both are going to be schooled it seems.

“This was a very serious near-miss situation. We will be conducting a full safety review ASAP. Our entire fleet is equipped with Satellite tracking units and dash cams; which will assist in our investigation,” said Chambers Transportation Group president Ryan Chambers in a statment.

“The type of driving behaviour shown in the video is unacceptable and we will take immediate action.”

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said that when they receive information regarding dangerous driving and commercial vehicles, the information is shared with the ministry’s Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) branch.

“CVSE will prioritize verification of both vehicles and drivers and will follow up to determine appropriate action.”

Man.....I can't even manage the punishment these drivers are about to receive. They're really going to bring the hammer down. I agree, for the dash cam driver to post on social media, he had to have been some levele of suicidal.

If the white is governed and cannot go any quicker what is really gained by overtaking red?

I think there's a typo in your thread title. It's supposed to say "who's the moron" right?

    Anywho. They are both morons.

If you speed up when someone attempts to pass you then you're a major AH, period. Regardless of any other factors.

White truck should get a ticket.

Red truck should have his license revoked. He could have killed someone with his road rage vigilante bull crap.

Which ever driver is on Elogs automatically gets excused for running against the clock.. if they both are on Elogs, you go by flip flop size. If those are equal, then Loves Rewards points are the tie breaker.

No. As you said, they're both morons. So who's the bigger moron.

    Personally I think it's a tie.

Whoever posted the video did a good job of making it look like the white truck was passing on a double yellow but the pass was on a passing lane and had the red truck eased up on the fuel a bit instead of regaining the speed lost climbing the hill as quick as possible (I'm guessing they don't pay for the fuel) the pass likely would have been completed before the passing lane ran out. Not only did they choose to start the video at the point that it wasn't obvious there was a passing lane it was also at a point after they crested the hill and were likely going a good bit slower just seconds earlier.

While I agree with everyone who says it's an AH move to increase speed like that when being passed it's just as bad to run someone at the end of the passing lane like that. Either way both should have easily recognized they were going to be in a position where both wanted the same real estate at the same time and avoided that. Pure amateur hour.

Once they ended up in that situation it goes from amateur hour to reckless insanity on the part of both IMO. Engine on, brain off. :|

If it were up to me both would lose their driving privileges for at least a year and neither would ever drive a commercial vehicle again.

Of course that won't happen but I hope they're at least required to complete a thorough defensive driving program.
