I'm a new broker and I'm trying to find Shippers! I just started my career in hopes to take care of my family and building my book of business seems to be the hardest thing to do especially since I'm calling all sorts of companies and all I'm hearing is, "we don't need the help".." we have our own trucks" ..or my personal favorite.. "Don't call back.. click". I'm starting to stress out to the max and all I need is a chance to prove I am not like other freight brokers. I'll go above and beyond and work harder then anyone especially when it comes to my future shippers. I'm dedicated and just looking for a shot. Anything helps!!!

I see myself as the middle woman making sure everything goes smoothly from pick up to drop off, my company gives me the tools to successfully make this happen, but me speaking for myself I am the one point of contact available 24/7 for my shippers needs. If they need a load covered last minute I'm on it. If they need hard lanes to cover I'm on it like cream cheese on a bagel !! I can filter through carriers so they are getting high quality drivers wanting to take their loads. I do all the nitty gritty the shippers are too busy to do.

When rates drop everyone and their brother tries to go direct. The need for another broker bothering them is a non starter.

The blood is in the water and the sharks are circling.
What and especially why and for how long?
Have you , maybe, thought of starting working with an established brokerage firm?
Just to get a better understanding and to get your name out there.
If you are really good at what you do, you may have a chance of going solo in a year or two.
What do you think?ProfessionalNoticer, ZVar and jessdarby Thank this. -
I currently work with a brokerage learning the ropes but I do like the way you're thinking I do appreciate your advice!!

You will be respected, if you follow Mr. @kranky1 advise.
And have the money you need. -
Your a new biz, so maybe market to other new businesses that are expanding or breaking ground. ie. microbrewery, fabrication shops, water purification fab shops, or agriculture (large farms, produce growers, or grain bins) Be the first one on the scene, may be easier than trying to take out an established broker. They would be taking a huge risk in hiring you over one who is meeting demand.
