I was on the USS New Jersey at that time.
I've seen drivers with both legs amputated and driving trucks. You'll get there eventually. Those drivers walked as well as anyone else.tscottme, Waterman_99 and a.paul Thank this. -
I remember those Iowa class battleships! One of them was tied up across the same pier as the America when I reported to her for duty. For a West Tennessee boy that never saw the ocean that was a fantastic moment seeing all that firepower up close and personal.tscottme, Waterman_99 and Chinatown Thank this.

Kerry von Erich hid it so well that the general public didn’t know till after he died. -
That's interesting. Our kids are in White House, Nashville, and Lebanon. And my sister and cousins are in Henderson. To the OP, good luck. My neighbor in Grants Pass, Or, was an amputee. Can't remember which leg but he did well hauling flatbed. Lol I think his handle was Half-Step or something like that.

I'm from Greenbrier, TN and have lived in Goodlettsville and Nashville after getting a CDL.
Bought a home in Henderson, Nevada a few years ago.
I was talking to a driver at the fuel island at a truckstop in New Mexico. The wind was blowing and his pants were blowing against his legs. He saw me look and said, those are artificial legs; both of them. I told him, if it wasn't for the wind, I would have never known he has artificial legs. He laughed and said, Yeah, I know. Lost them in the Army. He's the second driver I've met with two artificial legs. -
Keep proving them wrong. My friend lost his left leg just above the knee and left arm at the elbow from a bike accident in our Sr year of highschool. Was in a coma for 3 weeks..... occupational therapist now
