Shouldn't have to much trouble getting hired on during harvest. That's a good site for custom harvest operations.

RW, this storm going to get you? They are now saying could get 4-6 inches of snow. Hope they are wrong.

The map I saw this morning looked like it would be south of us. That's what I'm hoping anyway. It snowed here this afternoon, didn't accumulate much, but got the pavement wet and had to run headlights and wipers for a while.

Harvesters can be a good place to get some experience, that's where I got my start. If you've already got your CDL, you can afford to be choosy, a lot of places will hire guys and then help them get a CDL. Just remember on the harvest run, you're not just working for those people, you're also living with them, so choose carefully. There are some very good people in that business, but I got to see a few crews that I was thankful I wasn't a part of.

Here's a forum about custom harvesters if you haven't already found it:

I'm not a member there but I read it once in a while. Good luck.

Hey all, lightning struck today, and I landed myself a new trailer. 08' Timpte 6'6" for just a little over half of what I was paying for that 99' Wilson junker. My shoulders feel better already lol.

Figured out on my 2nd trip to Horizon today that I could dump both hoppers simutanelousy with the Timpte. Couldn't have done that on a bet with the old trailer wooohoooo for me.

weatherman now projecting 8 inches snow here on top of 1/3 inch ice. Yuk. My son is excited cuz he wants to take his senior pictures in the snow. Bosses bought a trachoe so now they're looking at lowboys. I may get to make a Luzeanna run cuz they're talking about 1 at Aters.

    Wheathauler, yep still with them.

Walleye, I am, but its gonna go onto the back burner for a while.

Now that I am paying roughly half in trailer rent than previously, and work has begun to pick up, its time for me to get caught back up on bills, and get a down payment for a car hauler in the bank. I am told after wheat harvest, and before fall harvest begins this Tempte will be put up for sale. I can either buy it then, or make a decision to head else where.

I didnt realize until today just how hard that old Wilson had me working lol. Everything is so much easier on this newer trailer its awesome.
