doesnt work on my phone. :p i have a keyboard phone.

Honestly I was referring more to the No talking on your phone laws. Before I had a gear keeper i had to look to put my mic in the holder and i always fumbled with it a lot at night when i couldnt see it. Gear keeper is a safer/cooler/sexier way. I know where all the knobs on the CB are so i dont have to look to turn them, but...I also know where the number keys are on my phone so i dont have to look to dial a number either....

I sure wish they had a bluetooth CB that didnt SUCK. the cobra uses a special mic (pointless and cobra mics SUCK) and i have a much better radio than a cobra!

Hmm, I wonder if we can get these four wheelers to stop reading newspapers, books and bibles in rush hour traffic in Atlanta, GA.

I could not belive my eyes, this women was read a small print Holy Bible while driving (coast-stop) in rush hour on the loop around Atlanta.

Dieselbear, I will support that driving while stupid law.... Needs a big fine and long suspend to the license..... However I dont think the law makers will pass that, they would be the first to lose their license...

I wonder how many of those FMCA pencil pushers have ever carried a CDL, or for that matter ever been in a Truck....

Driving While Stupid... that would require the vehicle be impounded with Minimum $5000 impound fees, right?

A few months ago I was rolling south on I29 through Grand Forks ND. Went to pass another truck and was almost pushed off the road. When I got up to the cab, I looked over. He had his laptop open on the passenger seat and was leaning over trying to type something. It looked like he had MSN messenger up.

I dialed 911 and gave the operator the truck number, company name, Liscense number, direction of travel and his current yardstick number.

Not sure if anything happened but I hope he got stopped.

I got to this thread a little late but here's my one and a half cents... I'm not against banning truck drivers from texting while driving. You're in the control of an 80 thousand pound vehicle and to me texting while driving a semi is just crazy to do besides being unsafe. But I'm afraid it won't stop there. These so called truck safety groups will then claim the following...

    1. talking on the CB is distracting. SO BAN IT
    2. talking on a phone is distracting, even with a headset. SO BAN IT
    3. Oh changing the channels on your XM or Sirius is distracting, so we need a ban on that.

Get the picture? Year after year, the DOT and these advocacy groups go out of their way to make a job harder... almost to the point that you dread getting back into the truck after your home time.

Distractions are distracting. They can ban everything they want. Will it stop you?

They banned many things in this world and they are still here.

People for the most part lack the self control to follow the law if they think they are better then most.
