Ok question for anyone who’s hauled pivots.

What’s in those crates? I’m assuming some electric drive motors, pump hardware, and sprinkler stuff. But I’ve never hauled one.

They are not allowed to weight in western Canada (they are considered a single axle and are only allowed 20k on the set), they are allowed in eastern Canada and each province has their own weight regulations.

So they moved one cardboard crate from the rear, the heavier one, and moved it up front. They took those tires and put them in the middle.

Scaled it and one axle is 60 lbs over, but whatever. I've been driving it down. Just north of Georgetown right now.

This is one of those loads that has people afraid to pass me. And I look at my load in the mirror and I don't blame them. Sometimes I think to myself, "I must be crazy."

Thought it was 12 000, over the steer 34 000 over the drives and 34 000 over the rear axles not sure what the issue is here your well under the limit on all axles? Whats the extra figure to the right on the steer ? 20 400 all about ? Thought maybe Cat scales couldn't add up.

    cke Thanks this.

The two 20xxx weights are each of his trailer axles. He was over 40k on his spread.

He split weighed his spread instead of weighing it as a group.

That's for a van load. Flat, especially with a spread, is another kind of animal you have to get used to, and a step deck spread even more so, and then a 53' spread step is even another animal. It's completely different than van, and we can legally drive OS/OW if permitted and within trailer/truck limits. Unless a reefer/van has a spread (and they are out there), 34k is the max on that back of a van. Not so for a flat. That back trailer can take 40k just on it's back, so it's a lot trickier staying within limits.

I would have pushed through, but it was getting late and I don't know of too many places to park south of Austin.

So I picked it up this morning, just in time to get stuck behind a pile up! One truck and a bunch of 4-wheelers got torn up unrecognizable. Someone on the CB said 12 got sent to the hospital. So that ate up an extra 2 hours.
