Trailer brakes

    I have strange issue noted by mechanic during last pm service . I replaced my trailer brakes maybe 2-3 months ago and now the upper brake shoe pad is separating because of loosen rivets( all 4 corners ) . I am the only one using this trailer since new and never had this issue before , same mechanic replaced brakes probably 7-8 times on different types of equipment for me ( car hauler trailer , flat bed trailer , regular trucks ). He called the supplier and sales said this is the first time they hear the issue and if we want credit/exchange - store has to ship those shoes to the manufacturer for evaluation , they said probably overheated brakes - i never overheated them .
    Any ideas?!

    Bad cores, pi$$ poor rivet job. I've had some do that and if you take the pad off the core is rough/pitted.

    A buddy got warned in northern Wisconsin about same issue . The DOT inspector told him he’s been a lot of that lately.

    Thats my thoughts. You could remove and use a brake lining bolt kit to repair this. But it sounds like it is still less than quality reman brake kits.

    Big difference in price between re-lined and new. Nothing wrong with re-lined if the cores aren't pitted/corroded.

    Yes and if they check for worn anchor points. In my world they rust jacket before I wear them to 50%. I have tried everything except stainless steel. I might have to.

    We run in the north so just us re-lined. With the discs there is no problem with it, just for everything else underneath the trailer

    I run Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. I can't wear them out. Even the meritor coated linings. I was told I dont use my brakes hard enough.
