This is in reference to my other recent thread but my recommendation for new drivers: don't drive teams with whoever your company decides to stick you with. They'll say you can make more money, and that may be true, but the risk is not worth it. Actually, based on my recent experience, I doubt I'll ever be able to be a passenger in a truck again.

Oh yeah been there. I had one guy that said he used to drive taxis in Baltimore. Caught him doing 65mph on the mountains on i70 while it was snowing hard. He was passing the 4 wheelers. Immediately told him to pull over to the vista point and we slept there (forgot the air was thin up there so I had really bad sleep). In the morning I drove us straight to the terminal in salt lake. Dropped him there and told him he should go back to driving taxis.

You have to know everything about that other person and have worked with them very closely. It's a huge risk!

How about just, "Be careful who you team with." Rather than telling people not to do something. Personally I wouldn't team. Just cuz I don't want to share such a small place with another man. But I know of several Teams that do great together. In fact two buddies of mine were running team at Stevens until ones home life required him to switch to regional to be home more often. The three of us would meet up and hang out any time our clocks allowed it. Granted, theirs was more of a always moving clock. Which is another reason why I wouldn't team. But to flat out tell someone not to do something. That's pretty assumptive.

I never have and never will. I'd rather just depend on myself and I'm naturally kind of a loner anyway.

Yeah the thread title was a little "assumptive?" But what actually said was don't just drive teams with whoever your company pairs you up with

I have an almost impossible time thinking I would team with someone. That said, there's a kid that went to the Swift Academy with me in August of 2019. He and I have kept in touch and talk regularly. If I 'had' to team with someone, I think I could with him. Although neither of us wish to do any team work, we both tend to think we could successfully manage to pull it off if we needed to.

This is the kind of team driver to have. Her motto is; “You drive, I’ll sleep”

I could never sleep in a moving truck, unless I was driving. Lol.
