So I had this happen the other night and now I am trying to scrounge around and ask to find parts. My two biggest questions is what originally happened so I can prevent it. Also does anyone know where I might find a replacement. Vannder Haggs seams to be my best route so far just waiting on pictures to see if it correct and maybe how rusted it is.

the beams and tubes are hallow. Rust gets in there and rots em away, this beam was patched previously, and broke on me a couple months ago thankfully I was close to some good friends that knew a amazing welder. There is a complete ARD-238 under a 1985 western star at redwines salvage in Garsyburg,NC Kenny would Probly part it out or make a deal on the complete cut off. If I was anywhere close to doing my suspension swap I’d give you the parts for free.n4ane Thanks this.

Cracked right along the weld for the shock mount by the looks of it. Wonder if it was fatigue from over the years or maybe a bad weld someone gob'd up and accelerated the cracking?
n4ane Thanks this. -
On my current suspension it is repaired in that exact spot as well.

after looking harder it doesn’t look all that rusty. Could of started cracking at the shock mount and kept getting worse, you are most likely correct

Is it
Redwine Salvage Sales Inc? -
