No one failed in my class. If you feel 3 days of videos and books with 1 day on the pad isn't enough then see if you can get them to commit to taking the inexperienced 18 days. But if you want in a truck sooner, and can pass the road test then experienced is the way to go. We were told that if rusty they would give us a chance to get comfortable. If you failed road test it was totally up to the instructors discretion to give you another chance.

Thats good to know because the recruiters keep telling me that i will definitely get more time to train...and what you just said is my biggest concern. So maybe I will have to go with another company to get the experience and later schneider. Where I live is a hotbed for A drivers. Giant foods is paying like 31 an hour, UPS like 33, and there are a ton of intermodal here. This area has so many warrhouses, etc.

Thank you for the information, that is helpful in me making a decision

Good luck to you. Be safe and find the company that is right for you. Schneider doesn't want to lose people in my opinion so they very well may give more training for experienced. I had a good experience with them. Now just waiting for a truck.

Sni as far as training, their attitude is you can never have enough..if you feel you need bit more, im sure they won’t have an issue…safety literally is their biggest thing there..

My time at the Pumpkin is nearing an end. For the last, I dunno…few years it has become painfully evident that their box planners are the weakest link in our chain (I’m a lease op, BTW). And while I’ve done ok there, my fruitless wild goose chase for an empty finally pushed the button connected to my last orange nerve.

I’ve always understood and accepted the fact the company trucks will always have an edge when it comes to empties in particular. The “not enough empties for all drivers” message was very familiar. I got it. But given this company invests in trailer tracking technology that supposedly lets Green Bay know when a box is empty and when it’s not and yet consistently sends us on these wasteful excursions, I’ve had my fill.

I submitted my application for another outfit today. 14 months to go on my lease, and a bit over three working years left as of now. I really wanted to ride it out here. I’ve done ok, the people have been fine to work with. But the glaring issue I described (along with the high level of babysitting…I had to do a road test after being away for more than 30 days) has reached its limit with me.

    Seems like a trend.

10 years ago, box couldn't hit their arses with both hands. And then in the middle, they were spot on. Now, it's back to the bad old days.

    You're not the only one.

    Best of luck.

Hey guys so I’m trying to get with either Schneider or swift the issue I’m having is Swift does not hire via New York City the lady on the phone and asked me where if I had a place to park the vehicle I said yeah I live in the suburbs not the main city and she still said no is there anyway I can go around that. And as for Schneider I got the recruitment thing going on 5 August I was waiting for any tips or anything like that the only thing I’m worried about when it comes to that is I heard that you have to use their CPAP machine in allowed to use your own taste I wonder if that’s a concern or if they would let me I would appreciate anybody out here couldn’t give me advice.

as long as it has a data card to record usage , use the machine you have.

once you do get hired on and have their insurance , supplies are free to you and whrn a new machine is needed after 5 yrs on yours you get a free machine too.....
