So i have a 2017 tripack evolution that keeps having the temps on the WT1 sensor jump to stupid levels and shut down the unit (read 438,872,631 as the highest recorded temp) but when i laser the head or restart it the actual temp is 130-160 and reads the same on the software when i hook it up depending on how hot it is outside.
I have taken it to 4 thermokings so far and replaced the following.
Fuel pump
Oil pump
Water pump
Coolant lines (as in they switch it from closed to open loop)
Arctic package
Alternator
Updated computer twice.
All fuses in the box
The wireing harness
WT1 sensor
Oil pan
Fans
Condenser
And they hooked another computer to it that didnt fix the problem and switched back to the old one.
I keep getting errors 10, 18, 93, 6 and 35. Thermoking in ####cago is now saying i need an entire new APU and im a bit flumixed as this seems wrong. There is no coolant in the oil or vise versa, head doesnt seam to be cracked or broken and i have zero clues as to where to begin as ive knocked out everything i cant think of other then the thermostat.
Thermo-king tri pack red check engine.

I don’t remember if f I had the same issue but several years ago I kept getting a code and the shop put a new control panel in ( the one in the bunk on the wall ) and fixed whatever the problem was
Maybe nothing close to your issue but ? -
I mean i can try it, im running out of other ideas lol. Its weird too because my tripack was working great then had an oil change and now its not.
-
Weird
It seems you’ve tried everything else so maybe?
I wish I could remember what was going on. Maybe shutting down with a red or yellow warning?
Changed that panel in like 2014-2015 and that Apu was on my last 2021 truck I recently sold -

Found this
Maybe useless info but maybe a bad sensor issue even tho you said you changed it. Could be a bad one?? -
Sound like a bad sensor somewhere... But at the end of the day its a tripac. They are best rolled off the side of a cliff somewhere.
PoleCrusher Thanks this. -
I mean its better then a carrier lol......carriers are the only ones ive ever had catch fire.
Ill give it a try, at this point im entirely flumixed so what can it hurt. Whats really really weird is once i plug in my service tool it works flawlessly within 5 mins of unplugging it "red check engine of doom"D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Sir you have much more patience than I. After all that I would have ripped it off the frame and ran over the #### thing repeatedly.
However it would’ve probably resulted in a ####ing flat with my luck lol.
Good luck driverPoleCrusher Thanks this. -
you may have
1. bad wiring
2. bad control board
as far as i know wt1 sensor is hard wired to the board. Thats all.
the guys who suggested to replace above mentioned parts are ######## , without any knowladge.
Somebody suggested to run over it. Dont think about it , I can give you $2k for that unit.. -
Welp get er into thermo king. Turns out some moisture got into the box somehow and caused a relay to short and kill my fuse box. Also had a bad thermostat and a few other sensors were dead.
Seems to work fine now but we will see if it STAYS workingarmo, PoleCrusher and GYPSY65 Thank this.
