I have an aggravated charge and drugs and weapons possession, any felony friendly companies to drive for that will train. I don’t have a CDL.

I have a list of traveling carnivals that hire felons; that list is buried somewhere in my messy paperwork.Last edited: Jul 13, 2022

The North Dakota and West Texas oil fields hire felons. However they aren't booming like they once were. There were several guys with felony records when I worked out there. Oil field companies only care about ppl thats going to work. Not what you've done in the past.
One guy even made it up to a top supervisor role. But oil field work is normally 3 to 8 weeks out. Then maybe 1 week home. But that depends on what company you work for.JoeyJunk and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
You can get free cdl school through your state.

One point. If you are less than 7 years from the day you were found guilty you are not going to be able to get a TWIC card or a hazmat on the CDL. Further, you most likely will not be able to go into Canada. This can be fixed, but it takes some time and most times a bond has to be put up. Some carriers won't hire you if their freight or customers demand NO FELONS. Generally speaking, if you are free of parole or probation most carriers will look at you. I have seen some surprises when it comes to this. Just be upfront about your status. Oh, one more thing. Don't answer a question not asked while filling out an application or during an interview.
There are people going through company-financed CDL schools all the time that are felons. You have got to start searching for one that will also train you.CaliRaised, Another Canadian driver and bryan21384 Thank this. -
One thing employers look at is what kind of a felony it is. Sex crimes, murder, armed assault, theft, and arson are usually immediate disqualifiers. Is this legal or does it constitute discrimination? I honestly don't know but if an application containing any of those things showed up at our place it would get round filed.
There are too many drivers looking for work with clean records to take a chance on a possible bad one.
That being said...we have two drivers with felonies. Both times were the result of too much whisky and too little self control and happened when they were very young. They turned out okay once they did a little growing up and they've done a good job here.InTooDeep, JoeyJunk and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
