This has been very informative. Good to hear about the real deal of driver training. I might need some training like this myself. Drove OTR for 6 mos, but been out of a truck for almost 2 years. I definitely need some serious refreshing behind the wheel. This company sounds like a good one to get back into trucking with.

 

Go for it Coach. I took the 10 day in MT back in May and haven't looked back yet. Good folks w/this outfit. Does the company have its share of ups/downs, sure. They are fair to all. Everyone gets treated equally bad! And I say that with the best of intentions!

I have been given the opportunity to drive flat bed. Had I worked for anyone else would probably not happened until at least a year in. Even though the company flatbedders were turned back into van drivers due to lack of loads I am grateful I got the chance to try it for a couple months. I would do it again when the economy ramps up. As for dispatch, they will all work with you as best they can. Even the ones that are a little more finicky/difficult/pedantic (look it up, I did!) than the others will want you to be rolling.

yeah, one of my favorite things to do here is read about new guys (and girls) going through school and learning to drive the thing....

 

im wondering if they are out on a road trip?
i know they were supposed to go on one over the weekend, but with the snow storm pretty much putting the south east on lock down, and the fact that serious sam said he thinks noodler was home for the weekend, id say its lookin pretty good that they are out on a road trip...

 

So they always take you for a road trip on the 10 day as well, S2B? I think those are great ways to get experience...

 

Hey guys great posts. Do they hire recent grads? I start # jcc on mar 1st. Jus lookin at comps to see if there are any good nc comps that hire noobs. Thanks.
