Current hazmat tanker driver here (hauling fuel; home daily).

Suggestion: since you are brand new to trucking--as a follow-up to post #3 above--get your initial tanker experience with non-hazmat freight.

Then, later when you have some real experience--move on into hazmat freight, if that's what you want.

You don't say where in OK you live, but you should know about these people--they hire/train rookies, and have their very own CDL school, too:

Your phone isn't ringing off the hook....mainly because you simply don't have any experience.

To start out--you will need to be somewhat proactive to get the ball rolling (like that in post #7 above).
