    So my family is shopping for a newer dump truck with a limited budget, and found one with a maxxforce 15 engine, 550 hp. Anyone have experience with this engine and can share their recommendations and thoughts. Also, does a DPF delete make these engines perform significantly better or more reliable?

    Note: I am well aware that Navistar/Maxxforce engines generally have a bad rep, and also aware that most people favor kenworth/peterbilt trucks, and cat/cummins engines, etc. I'm interested in hearing from those guys that have actually had experience with Maxxforce 15 or similar Maxxforce 13 engines stock and post DPF delete. Thanks for your help!!!!!

    Stay away from maxxforce!! Far far away. Google the engine, search it on TTR. You won't find anything good

    Run away from the Maxxforce. If you look into it you will see how bad that engine was. They got sued for that engine. They stopped making that engine is was so bad. Maybe if they are giving you the truck for free.

    Read this;
    Maxxforce 15
    I feel sorry for people who get trapped and hooked into buying a truck simply because the price is so attractive. There is a reason why they are heavily discounted. Personally, I would never ever buy one for the well known reasons why. I can go on and on, but it only takes a few minutes on google to find out why.

    Maxxforce 15 is a Cat with Navistar emissions and electronics. I’ve never really heard of any 15L complaints. They were discontinued because CAT stop making blocks. It’s the 11L/13L with all the EGR issues from what I see.
