Towing/ Wrecker Bill

Tow companies are biggest scam artists in America. Recently we had an accident the bill was $24k. They charged $900 fuel surcharge on 15 mile tow, on top of everything they charged 10% administration fees. Overinflated numbers on everything, but you can't do anything to them, they wont give your truck back until you pay.

 

If you are ever broken down call the tow truck company yourself. Do not let the the police call them that is where the "multipliers" kick in and break your pockets & bank. I've beat them to the punch a couple of times. I found that the first time & tow company guy told me had had the police called would have been double.

They almost got a friend of mine in Virginia on 95 for $6k to tow a few miles (clutch went out). His mechanic was very quick and knew a tow company that could tow him in the area. He would have been $6k in the hole.

To make matters worse "officer nitpicking" inspected and put him out of service for his bad clutch no lying and my friend's truck is a sharp well maintained 379. Beware of the thieves in flashing lights.
