Walmart was the only option I knew of when I made my first reply to the OP.

Credit Union is the best bet. Even if you need to deposit cash. Most credit unions are part of a national network that allows transactions at any member of the network.
you can get an ATM/Debit and Credit card from them as well. Most also offer an app and bill pay service. Most have no fees for most accounts.

Redneck bankin's funner. It's worth it for the name alone and the sweet debt card graphic.
Redneck Rewards Checkin' Account - Accounts

They have good rates and refund up to $25 in ATM fees monthly. I've never held an account there so no first hand experience with them.

I don't know for 100% sure, but I was told last night that you can deposit cash to your bank via Western Union. There are going to be some fees if this is possible.

I didn’t say ’regular’ deposits, I said if I need to conduct an electronic transaction. For example, you can’t buy a Honda generator on sale through an online merchant with cash. This is something on my long-term list of plans, especially if there is a good sale at the end of the year, which there often is.

And, since everyone likes to jump to conclusions, I’ll reveal a little. It is no danger. I have a couple of reasons to have cash, one a little shaded, the other not at all.

First, a generous family member withdrew $7000 from their savings and handed it to me cash to pay for my CDL school and a few expenses. I’d like to hand it back as received—nothing particularly shady about it.

Secondly, I need to build up some funds soon to pay an accountant or attorney to get my taxes in order. I missed a few filings. It could be very hard to make bills and pay a professional depending on how much might be taken from my account if the government decides to do so. So yes, I have a slightly shady reason.

But, I have a friend who has been through it with the IRS. It wasn’t that bad for him. So, I intend to do the same soon. It is not like I am avoiding child support or something really nefarious! I just need resources to get by and pay a professional to get me out of my jam. My friend was lucky enough to do it before the IRS garnished his wages or tapped his accounts. But, you never know what might happen. They have the power to do those things.

It's not important, BUT this is what you actually said! "I like to use ATMs. Occasionally, I might make a cash deposit. These could be real issues out on the open road." When somebody tells me that they "Occasionally" do something I take that to mean the said thing is done regularly. It may be 2 times a year or 5 times a year, but it still means you are regularly doing something.

Are you NEVER at home? I don't know, but if were depositing cash I would do so at home. I still can't understand why you need to make cash deposits like this. EVEN if it is only 2 a year. Now, if it were me I would get one of the Netspend cards at Walmart. They will allow over a $10,000 balance. You can use any Walmart to load them. Then you can also use them online. You can also transfer money from it to your local bank. YES, you will pay some fees, but in my opinion with Walmarts all over creation and many that will allow trucks to park, getting in one should not be impossible.

I use a Netspend card when I want to buy something online and I don't trust the company with my main card.

Why is the govt getting ready to take money from your account? How does handing cash to an attorney help versus giving the same attorney a check from your checking account? You keep track of your checking account, I hope.

You do know the cops can arrest your cash for no reason, right? It's called civil asset forfeiture.

    I had that happen.
They can only take a certain percentage of a paycheck.
And it would not require a cash deposit into the account.
