Hi guys got a question I have a Hino 195
    2014
The rear brakes was acting up and I took it into the shop this morning and now I’m being told that I need to replace on the rear both brake calipers and both rear rotors plus new pads and axle seals at a cost of a tad over $4,900
The box truck only has 77,000 miles on it but it does carry a lot of weight all the time so I understand the need for breaks but wow $4,900
in cost. So the question is this a fair price or should I look at a different shop to do this work.

Thanks for any information and your time responding.
    Ron

Sounds like inboard discs if they're doing axle seals. Quite a bit more labour involved since the axle shafts and hubs will need to come off.

    Tileman731 Thanks this.

Go look at it. Ask them to explain why your rotors need to be replaced. Minimum thickness and where are yours at.
Why do your calipers need to be replaced? Have the pistons been over extended? If you do not understand those things research and educate yourself.
As for high prices welcome to Hino.

    spsauerland and Tileman731 Thank this.
