I guess i won't mention how many DUI arrests i have made in my 16+ years of LE experience!lol.Wouldn't want to offend Kansas. Also wouldn't want to mention the friends i have lost due to intoxicated drivers,or the 2 times i have personally been hit by intoxicated drivers while helping other motorists.Or the numerous times I have had to knock on a door in the middle of the nite to deliver that message that noone wants to get.......I gurantee those family members would love to see more and more DUI enforcement to the fullest extint.fo course, noone ever told called me a hero for it,never wanted to be called one either, just wanted to try to make the highways in my area a little safe.....my family travels those highways also. And I never took a day off for counseling in my life for what i had to deal with, just walk to the back of the car and let the tears flow or wait until I am alone,or cry right along with a grieving person that just lost a loved one.Thats usually how officers have to deal with it,at least i did.But thats just me,the guy going out and ruining peoples lives for arresting them for breaking a law that they knew better than to be doing. Its not like its one of those little known tricky laws stuck in the back of a Statue book.I have said enough now.

I have a solution to this problem...just don't drink and drive! of course it's easy for me to say since I don't drink. I had a dispatcher that lost his arm when a drunk driver hit him. Every one knows that if you drink you shouldn't drive. It's just plain stupid.

He didn't ... they did it to themselves. NO ONE that has a driver's license of any class can plead ignorance about DUI. The issue has been front-and-centre for many, many years.

BTW, does that crystal ball of yours tell you how much property damage, how many accidents, or fatalities were prevented as well? If "most" of them were "just at the legal limit", then perhaps "most" of them were able to gain some relief via their lawyer.

I, for one, am glad he did. People have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Oh yeah, I personally have called in or prevented DUIs from leaving the scene about ten times over the years ... and I'm #### proud of it too.

    Don't hold your breath.

Nope, just like your trained to eye ball speeders (HAHAHAHAHA) you couldn't be more wrong about your trained deduction of me. I have Never had a DUI, and I never will. That CDL in my pocket is way to important for that kind of foolishness. The truth; I just HATE cops. :biggrin_255:

Was my answer honest enough for you?

DevilDog911, I took the 150 number as bragging from you. However, most of what you said in your next post, I agree with. Mandatory jail time would be an excellent start for repeat violators. I have heard more than once about chronic violators with a dozen + DUI's in their prior history, and have never done any real jail time. GOOD JOB COP! That should be mandatory prison time imo. Anybody can make a mistake once, but those that repeat and repeat don't deserve to be free.

IMO one DUI on a CDL is too much. There shouldn't be another chance in 10, 20 or even 100 years.

Wow, and thank you mr obvious. Nobody has said, and I doubt anybody will ever say drunk driving is a good thing. Instead, you have missed the point entirely. See if you can let this sink into your skull. Bragging about writing 150 DUI's = bad. It sucks, its sad and nobody wins.

IMHO, I see a lot of hate and discontent here. Period. I , as like most of the drivers here, including Law enforcement, has seen the aftermath of a DRUNK SOB! AND I also believe that if your caught 1 time intoxicated behind the wheel of ANY vehicle, let alone 40 tons of steel, should not only be locked away for life, His/Her face should be plastered on every corner billboard in ANY TOWN USA!
I lost an Ex-Sister In Law that way. Lady broadsided her car, BAC .10, did 6 months county time and was released. Niece has done a lifetime sentence with out her mother.
I Drink,H*** yeah. on my days off, my wife chauffeurs me around, when I have to get ready to hop behind the wheel of my truck:biggrin_25513:. and I usually start work in the late evening, enough time for a mid day ####tail, still:biggrin_25513:.
    • Now as for the money making racket behind Law Enforcement, I am a firm believer in it, that it's happening. I live in California where the state gets it's money off of big trucks going over 55 mph. 55 mph!
    • Starting ticket cost is $ 235.00. Depending on the county that you get the ticket in. and when the last time time you received a speeding ticket. In cali it is a MONEY MAKING SCHEME POINT BLACK

Yes it did. I for one do not hate cops. They have a job to do just as I do. But there are some that loves to make my/our jobs much harder, and after interacting with them, leaves very bad impressions.

Wow that's pretty messed up. In one sentence you boast and laugh about how many Dui's you have written. Just a couple sentences later you start crying about how many deaths you've been around regarding Dui's. A doctor could diagnose you as manic depressive.

Don't worry about offending me. You couldn't offend me if you tried. Hell, anybody can get on the internet and say they are a cop. You might be, you might not. Who knows............. :biggrin_25525:
