    Only negative issue I know of is some restaurants cheat on the prices. They swap menu after you order. When you question the price you're being charged they show you a different menu with higher prices. Take a photo of the menu you first look at and make sure the waitress sees you doing it. Not all restaurants do that though. Be safe and take the photo.

    That's all fake news & propaganda.
    The Tibetan Monks finally realized committing suicide isn't a very bright idea. No one really cared if they killed themselves. Same thing happened in Vietnam, and no one cared. Just like here in the USA, no one would care if Catholic Priests killed themselves.

    Just because you don't see it walking around first tier cities doesn't mean it's not happening. China puts on a great face where they're watching, or when the CCP comes to inspect. Otherwise there's huge amounts of corruption.

    How's that zero covid policy working out? Still welding people into their apartments to starve because the food delivery drivers are included? How about the cats? Still testing negative for covid? Do they still put prostitution cards under your hotel door?

    Just make sure you're not there when the US does something China doesn't like or you might get arrested and held for a year on trumped up charges like the Canadians.
