No trailer lights

Get you a piece of wire. Any wire. Strip the protective coating off exposing the copper wire. Cut you off about 10 wire threads and twist together to make one piece. Make it about 2 inches long. On your pigtail is holes for the pigtail to plug onto trailer. Take the wire and put it in one of the holes. Bend the wire into a U shape and put the other end in the hole opposite of the first one you used. When you plug it in, the copper completes the circuit and you will have lights.

 

Do not put a jumper wire into any random holes on your electrical connection. You’ll have more problems than you already have.

Wiggle and push in on your green line once you’ve plugged it into the trailer…see if you get any lights or at least flickers.

If you do then you need to spread the prongs on the trailer receptacle with a small flat blade screwdriver.
They have small slits in the end you can wedge open so they fit tighter into connection.

 

Test to make sure you have power from your pigtail first. The large hole on top is your ground, the clearance and marker lights are usually the hole directly left and right of that. The turn signal for left should be underneath the clearance, the right should be underneath the marker. The brake lights are the hole on the bottom. Turn on your lights and check to make sure you're getting 12v through the plug for each light you're testing. If you don't read voltage, then your problem is on the truck side with the wiring or a fuse. If you do get voltage, then the problem is on the trailer.

Check the trailer by starting at the plug. I would start by checking the connection behind the pins, then the wire from there to where it tees into the left and right side of the trailer.

Get a multimeter as well as wire strippers and heat shrink connectors to splice and repair any issues you find. Once you understand how to work a multimeter, you should be able to troubleshoot any light problems.
