This week I grabbed:
Greenville, Nh to Chester Vt for 650
Amsterdam Ny to Wells Me for 970
Greenville Nh to Tewsbury Ma for 450
Uxbridge Ma to Raymond Nh for 700
Total gross 2,770
Filled truck in barrington for 4.77 gallon. Price lower today 4.74, don’t know how Mudflap does it.
I’ll crunch the numbers this weekend and see how these loads stack up.
Only thing I don’t like about running these is my parking situation.
Lucky enough to get the last spot in bow last night. I was going to go back to kittery but roads where closed for work.
Got all turned around ended up on rt 1 which led me into downtown Portsmouth.
I’m not familiar at all with the area was a nerve racking time.
Thankfully we don’t have many trains here unlike say Boston or nyc.
Only thing I run into every once in a while is an old more than likely out of service rr bridge.

 

So far this week has been a strike out.

Rates for local/regional definitely beat long haul right now.
Of last weeks 2,770 gross I netted 1,671.
Would of netted more but I was 4 weeks behind on trailer payments.
Problem with the local runs has been scheduling and lack of freight at times.
I often deliver and can't find something to pick up delivering either same day or next day so I work 4 hours then have to sit on the load for the day.
Be nice to get a pick up, deliver next day, pick up same day, deliver next day to keep the truck moving.
Working on some potential dedicated routes now, rate offers are a little to low for time, distance and expenses.
Rates are around hardly make a living level. I do not own a truck to make a living, I own a truck to make a profit.
If I wanted to just earn a living I'd work for someone else.

 

It’ll get better.

 

Spent two days trying to get the Rochester nh round trip at a good price.
Someone took it this morning for the broker offer.
Bid on Manchester round trip and got that one.

 

Doing a Manchester nh round trip for the month.
Wanted to stay more local but the pool I was drawing from seemed to have dried up.

I’ve been with them a while as well. They respond to texts always if you need something. For calls, you might get them on the phone when you call the first time once every 2 years, or most likely never. BUT they’ll call you back within a day or three if you leave a message.

 

This hasn’t been a bad run.
Wouldn’t mind being dedicated to it for a while.
Probably the worst parts of the run is going through Chicago and the delivery in Wisconsin.
Took a little over 5 hours to unload and reload the trailer. Trailer was about 1/4 full after reload.
Pick up in Illinois was less than pleased as they close at 2.
Loading in Manchester usually takes about 2 hours.
