Like when an abusee tells you how the abuser can some times be so sweet and thoughtful while squinting through a black eye.

What if I told u, ur company is most likely making 5 times more than you are off each load? While you take all the risk. Why take that risk if you revenue is 100% dependent on a dispatcher finding you loads and you can't call on anything yourself and negotiate your own terms as a representative of your company... I don't wanna turn this thread into a LP discussion , there is plenty other threads we can make on that. We can all agree that even if u are successful with a LP, you will come out better financially if you could source the truck on your own and lease on as an owner op. I just wanted to let bayou boy know there is an opportunity to LEARN , if he sees it as that. But it requires 110% commitment and bring your A game at all times, to get ahead.

You said it best. I questioned his commitment from his first posts about school/trucking. You don't do a LP deal with limited knowledge and expect quick returns. I mean, if you don't even have a dependable POV, what business does one have jumping into owning a truck, it makes zero sense?

You didn't by any stretch, but a seemingly human trait is to hear and see the parts we want to hear and see while completely ignoring undesirables and/or our own shortcomings. Happens with all of us, unfortunately. Well, at least it happens with me.

One thing I underestimated was my lack of drive without someone "needing" me. When I was running my shop, I worked 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year and only took off an extra day or two for 4th of July and Christmas. That didn't transfer back into trucking because it's a completely different dynamic. My phone doesn't ring constantly and I don't have people stopping by to ask for my services. TQL doesn't count, I blocked the number anyway lol.

If I didn’t trust you guys to shoot me straight and steer me in the right direction I wouldn’t post on the open forum and I especially wouldn’t expect you to do any less than have my back; realistically speaking I only need $700 a month for personal bills that’ll be gradually going down as I pay them off, need enough money for food and water, naturally and apart from that any extra money would go towards sending a little home, paying once a month for my schooling (was told it’s pretty much whatever you can afford), putting some away in a saving account, so on and so forth; if this lease purchase program couldn’t afford me to do that over the next 3 years or so then I would agree it’s not for me and as for getting rich quick/how long I plan on being in truck driving, I don’t expect to make it big over the course of the 4 years or so I’d definitely be driving, but thereafter I would likely have a job in a different field once I get my degree and that alone I know it would be better to be a company driver, but I’m not really sweating it as long as the basics I mentioned could be taken care of just to have the experience and owning my own truck
