I do mainly one day runs, an occasional two day run.

I’m not boasting or bragging, just pointing out that in todays climate I’m still on track to gross over $300K with one truck pulling Landstars trailer. The vast majority of my loads come off the LS load board, with an occasional agent offered load.

    My YTD deadhead is
My YTD deadhead mile average is 116 per trip. One of the best paying loads I do on a regular basis requires a 148 deadhead out of the house.

Landstar takes 35% pulling their trailer, that number is after Landstars cut.

I know you’re not bragging. What their paying is about the same as what I’m making running off of Load boards. Basically the same rates everyone’s making. Rates are always as low as they can be to get the job done. The recent high rates were a short lived fluke. I just don’t understand how some try to pretend they’re special, and are somehow making well above the average. Be it on Load Boards or LS system.

I thought it was 67% if 98%. 2% off the top for Office costs. Used to be anyway. They have some good discounts, no doubt. They also have full chargebacks for everything, from what I recall. Either way, it depends on wether it works for you or not. I’m not criticizing LS O/O’s. Personally I don’t like being under anyone’s control. On the other hand, less responsibility running under someone else’s authority, along with less overall headaches is a plus. Always a trade off. Not criticizing anyone’s choices. I get it. I’ve done it. Might Lease on again someday. Never know, things change fast in this Business.

    YTD
    $122,088
    45 loads
    42,888 all miles ($2.84/mile)
    29,835 loaded ($4.09/mile)

When I get tired of it, I tend to drive home whether there's something on the deck or not. I should probably quit doing that.

Looking at the numbers, I'm not sure if I'm bragging, or owning up to it at this point.
