Hello: Hear i sit in redding,ca. Been shut down for 2 days for snow and ice. Has been lefted to chains. On interstate 5 north. Which covenant doesn't run chains. So we sit at the ta. The parking lot has been full with driver double parking, on the side of the road for miles. The state trooprs are ask drivers to park on hwy 44.

This afternoon half the parking lot is tring to go north with chains. But the state trooper are only letting 4 trucks leave at one time. There is a line for miles waiting to go north. Even if we could go. There is no where to go. Its is going to snow again to night.

This is the part that they not tell you about. I am not making any money sitting hear waiting under a load. We are on a run from southern ca. long beach going to kent wa. Its a good run but cant get around this peak.

But thangs are going great with the new trainer. We are sitting hear on idelair with tv, a/c & wireless. I have no problem getting paid. Im able to to take care of my family. Paying bills, putting food on the table. And im learning how to eat less with a nrw diet. thats not going so good. There is a limit to what i am able to choose from. not able to cook on the trainer truck. Just because he dosnt cook on the truck and i donot have the money to buy any cooking stuff at this time. But I not staving. talk to you so.

Sorry about breaking it off like that. As so as I saw a few trucker hot foot en it to there trucks. I checked to see if the road was open. Yep!! And were off to the races.

Made it. We got it end to Kent this morning. A ups load. drop an hook. Drove to a truck stop that you had to pay to stay. $ 10.95 for 12 hours. But the only one that was close by. Slept for awhile.

Got the next load. Going to run to ID to NC to VI. All drop and hook. Seems like good run. Just not going on this pay check.

Got to make it threw this snow from the west coast to the east coast in the northern parts of the Rockies to the smokies. Going to give my gear choose a run for its money. Going down those hills.

This Friday only made $500.00. That hurt. Only got in to runs. This week its going to be small to. Had one short run and the one from southern cal to Kent, WA. Snow in for two days Didn't help at all. Today begin friday and all load trip packs has to be in by Monday afternoon. Just not going to make it. So another low pay week for me. If it wasn't low to start with.

The trainer said I'm good to go. I know what I'm doing. Just got to work more on my backing. Got about week and a half to test out. To do the 6 months of teaming. before able to go solo.

We are being loaded now. Let be get my logs done. And get my paperwork. So I can start going east.

I was told my training would be the four corners of the USA. That makes it the four corners. Just got to go to east coast to make it complete.

I had a lady called Dianna. She told me just to stay in touch and just keep in touch because. Students drop out or just quit.

They call a few day before you get on the bus. If they do not pick up the phone or call back in time. There is now a opening to be fill to who ever comes first.

So just keep trying. It happen. Thanks for staying in touch. Yalk to you soon.

Bart i worked for covenant for 8 and a half months.I did do my job very well i might add.Never a complaint till they started charging for idle time. What kind of heartless bass turd charges for idle time when its the middle of winter?I was planning on leaving any way due to low pay.I have found a great company that pays very well and they actually care not just (COMMIT TO CARE)LMAO.Covenant does not care one bit they are good for what they are their for and that's IT.I have earned my right to complain now i did my time and ran for the hills.Any smart drivers out their would do the same.Do your time to get the better job and run my friend run as fast as your legs will take you.

Big Wheels i have made a break for it i am no longer a covenant driver(THANK GOD).I would say to you do your time you did make the right decision in going with them. They are good for what they are their for. That is getting you a one year over the road verification. After that I would run for the hills they are trying to mess with me on my last check(but i expected that its covenant)so if you do decide to leave know they will do that.According to TN labor laws they have 21 days from your last to get you your check BTW.Also I'm sure you know already they are charging you to stay warm with is a dumb move they are losing allot of drivers.(NOT THAT THEY CARE)they will just get 50 more next week for orientation no big deal.Oh well glad to see you and new trainer are getting it done.Keep going the end of training gets closer every day.
