Actually when my mom ran her own business. It was the cheaper way to go. She leased it under the business and wrote it off. Cost her less that way than buying it.

Similar to how Rodney Dangerfield explains leasing a building instead of buying it. Why do you think most companies lease their buildings and company vehicles.

I've been absent for awhile. I hope everyone is having a good summer. Usual summer for us. 4 of 6 yellow wagons are ready for September. We've kept busy. That's my daughter on the quad. 20220709_202824.jpg 20220714_145057.jpg VideoCapture_20220801-092158.jpg

We were scratching some numbers in the dirt the other day on the trucking I'm doing now- almost 50% increase in the hourly rate over last season, fuel average 8gal/hr, driver pay, maintenance $ increases, insurance, blah, blah. The trucking isn't making money, just getting the product which does show net profit (currently) delivered. If he bought/financed 5 trucks and hired drivers he'd be broke in a week. Write off doesn't help any with net operating loss. Margins are tight and getting slimmer.

@MACK E-6 does LTL if i remember correctly; i was thinking of long haul... besides i thought the little joke at the bottom of his profile was about people thinking it's his job to unload the truck and put it where they want it

you can write off the purchase of a new vehicle. You can not write off the purchase of a building. One is an asset and one is a liability. Companies lease vehicles for the full service maintenance. Not because it’s cheaper.

My parents always told me not to compare what you have with others.

A person may be driving a 7 year old beater that's paid off, but the guy across the street with $200k worth of vehicles in the garage and a new boat is in debt up to his eyeballs and is barely covering the interest on the loans.

    I need that cage!!!!
Had a terrible year with some of my special ed students. I was pulled over, surrounded by police, and had the bus boarded front and rear guns drawn. 2 students from the last chance school were shooting off a pellet gun. That's just one incident.
    Lol
