With today's fuel prices, finding a paper log truck that can turn a profit will be a tall order when competing against new trucks that can get 9-10 mpg at 78,000 lbs... and those new trucks have ice cold A/C.

This only applies if you're driving at 55 mph
I've driven a new 2019 freightliner automatic. It only got 6 mpg fully loaded 79,000lbs. They gave it to me while my 10sp was in the shop.

I'm currently working a regional run. Looking for a better opportunity with more miles otr away from home. I don't wanna be home. looking to put on some miles.

Our 2018 and 2019 trucks get the worst mileage in the fleet... 7.5-8 mpg. Our 2020-2023 trucks are averaging 8.5-9.5, with the better drivers regularly breaking over 10 mpg several weeks per year. All running regional reefer and the weight that comes with it at 65 mph, not 55.

It also depends upon how the truck is set up. If geared right, that DT12 will have the DD15 turning 1200 rpm @65.
