Let off the clutch and don’t mash the accelerator pedal until the clutch is all the way out ,

it’s different from a car where you have to give it gas when letting the clutch out or it will stall

    just takes practice .
Even if you have to pay the few a couple
More Times , it’s worth it to get your CDL without the automatic only restriction

and get all the other endorsements as soon as you can , doubles triples tankers and haz mat and twic

I just passed my test Friday I felt like I was at the fair trying to win that big stuffed bear for my date I just keep feeding the tester money LOL.
First test I show up Tester asks me if I attended the school I say no and then he informed me I had lucked out complete truck inspection do the Pre trip and pass he looks at me and says you passed the pre trip but we are done unless you have an up to date health card I find out I was five day over Shame on me.
Wait another month and half test two pass pre trip and backing maneuvers now on to the road test mind you have never driven this truck more than what was needed in the maneuvers test I did realize it had some type of throttle issue my guess is due to someone deleting the truck and there tune is a little iffe the transmission has no soft wall that I can identify the shifter just flops around and lets be honest I have only driven 13 and 18 speed trucks that were in great condition. Get on the highway make it about a mile seen one speed sign for 55 MPH as I am accelerating I miss a gear look down to correct it miss the next posted speed sign that says 55 MPH and just below it was 45 MPH trucks another fail on me.
Tester was a good guy gave me some driving advice told me to tell the ladies in the office he would stay late one day the following week and that all I would have to do was the driving portion.
Friday was the test and we went on 1.5 hour road test I got 25 points on the test and Passed.
Stick in there I bet you will get it on the next go.

Rule number one always listen to the DOT inspector, Rule number two re - read rule number 1. Bud you make it sound like the DOT inspector was just looking for mistakes, well in a way that is kind a true I suppose, but when I took my CDL test I passed first go, why because I didn't do anything that would cost enough points to fail the driving test. Yes the officer did deduct a few points one for not looking when I was stopped at a Red Light and it went to green, one of my old driving habits I guess, there was one other minor mistake but I just can't think of it anyway it was not enough to cause me to fail the test. Bottom line is you need to be able to prove you are competent enough to drive a CDL vehicle you did not do so and the DOT tester did not pass you, so you need to review the areas that you did not do well in and improve on them as the say "practice makes perfect."

The inspectors (I only really know about third party examiners) would love nothing more that to pass all the people they test. They do their best to score things as fairly as humanly possible. There is no win for anyone in a failure of the road test, be it for raw scores, or some safety violation or a fatal error.. It is just a bad day when you have to inform someone who is really trying that they are unsuccessful. There have been many times were I have been running the score in my head and KNEW that a particular driver had a issue with something, if they made the same mistake, if it was on an ungraded turn or intersection, they would still pass, if it was on one of the scored intersections or maneuvers, they failed, some of them had a good idea that they had failed, others didn't have a clue.. many others had convinced themselves that they had failed, when they had passed. There isn't an pre-failed drivers that I am aware of.

I use to show my students that I could go from a stop in 1st gear to 35 MPH in 7th gear without the throttle. The engine will apply fuel to keep it at idle speed, just have to be slow and smooth.
I was also a NC examiner. 30 points accumulated if you are nervous is not hard. Every shift, hands not on the wheel, not checking mirrors, calling obstacles, every little thing adds up. And after the test she is not required to say a word other than you did not receive a passing score. I would never talk directly to a student after a test, If you give a student any advice, it could be considered instructing them, and then you legally can not test them. I would have the student in the office while I briefed the school manager of the short falls of the test and area's that I feel the instructor needs to work on with the student. They could hear what I am saying but I am in no way instructing them.

At least you got to the driving portion I fail at the alley dock

    Aced the straight and offsetting
Did great at the pre trip
I know I was gonna pass the driving portion

But hell 2 hrs of practice a week isn't enough training
