No they cannot edit your logs legally without your approval. With that being said, move on from this company immediately. They cannot "force" you to break the law. They cannot charge you money for refusing to break the law. Find a reputable carrier to work for.

When you get enough experience you'll be also able to deliver freight in towns where trucks are not allowed at all.

Companies like this kill people and drivers.
You don't want to be one of the statistics that pushes the DOT to declare them unfit.
You should be job shopping NOW.

    Simply put....

    "Run Forest, Run!"

I wohave taken the fine, then called Paul”Opie” Taylor, trucking lawyer in Minnesota.
He would make their life miserable while you find another job.You crash and kill somebody, even if it’s their fault you are going to jail, and you probably would be sharing a cell with you ex boss.

Wow, some of the responses are … well unrealistic.

To the op, you need to get a pair and tell them no. This isn’t just an issue with safety but one where the owners and people working for the owners are just plain pos operators.

i would have let them fire me, then apply for unemployment and file a complaint with the state labor board. Outside of that, not much more you could do because it is only YOUR DECISION to determine what is a safe means of transport of a load, no one else but it is also YOUR RESPONSIBILITY if something goes wrong and you ignored your duty to operate the truck in a safe manner.

so find another company, just leave this company, don’t give notice other than bye, I’m quitting!
