It can be. Trucking is a difficult business to be in and scaling operations is a nightmare when you start. Factoring helps. If you only have a few trucks and you drive also keeping up with the invoices can get tiresome. Some reason people think there’s just 2 companies (20+ trucks or a single member company) and don’t understand about anything in the middle.

I’m going to go back to what I said, if an owner doesn’t have 60 days of operating capital, they don’t need to own a truck.

I keep reading these posts on factoring, this is a quick means for stop gap funding, but not for cash flow and reserve capital, most who use it as a regular means of revenue fail in this business as does people in other industries who use factoring (selling their invoices).

if you want to scale, you need capital in the bank, being a week by week outfit sometimes screws the driver which is paid before anyone else. But we know many don’t work that way, just reading many posts recently here, owners are screwing the drivers even more.

I have met many lazy and rather pos owners who want the big bucks without the work needed. In every case the driver is screwed.

Have the rates actually crashed to this, or are they actually $2.40?

I've dealt with hundreds of brokers over the years and every single one of them accepts invoices, BOLs and signed rate cons via email. You're giving so much money away for literally nothing. Uploading to an app is no different than sending an email.
