This is getting away from the subject of the forum but 1972 isn't than long in an industry where some companies have been around since the 50s 40s and even 30s or longer. Far bigger and more successful companies have vanished. From your perspective 1972 seems old probably because your fairly young. All I'm saying is never say never. I have nothing against TMC other than they need to remember all the pretty trucks and freight in world is useless without drivers. But this goes for most companies out there where the bottom line and stockholders come first. All the spokes in a wheel are no good without the hub and in this industry the hub is the driver. I'm just saying.

Mr Nasty, I remember all those, worked for Lee Way, what a crap outfit, just like TransCon. Pulled TransCon trailers OKC-LA-OKC in the 70s. Remember American Farm Lines. Worked for them and they had VT903 Cummins and 350s, 903s put out 380 HP and ran good. WE hauled all kinds of explosives including Phosphorous.

I have to provide tax documents to all companies I have applied to. Not an O/O self employed floor covering installer.

Actually, 1972 is sort of impressive. That puts them with companies that went out and got their own authority when de-regulation came along, and if they are still at it, they must be doing something half right. Prior to de-reg., it was all but impossible to get one's own authority.

A lot of the old time companies from the period mentioned were union outfits, and they are gone because they couldn't compete, rate wise, with the non union newcomers.

I filled out a few aps this past weekend, and for O/O, and anyone else self employed, all had to submit tax docs to prove employment. So it's not just TMC.

And why would that be a issue, anyway?
