Went to the rail yards when I drove for Swift ... no TWIC required.

Now I was picking up or dropping Swift trailers. So, I don't know if that had something to do with it.

    Doesn’t surprise me at all.

    Railroads are notoriously incompetent.

If Swift is at 1450 a week , what is everyone else at?

And not a lot of bs to put up compared to dry van. Most places are happy to see you show up. If i was looking for a job something like that would be high on the list especially the 4/4 schedule

Again I am not full OTR, I am regional, with weekends off and another nights home here and there , beside company don't have driver facing cameras, no safety.
You getting 28% cut for loads below 250 miles, and in my case 71c per mile. Period.
No stupid bonus/performance/milage or any other crap bonuses aka "hiring truck drivers with 2000 $ pay per week" with little letters after you going to sell your life to us :)
So so after 4 years, I am pretty OK with what I am getting paid
    Could I make more?
    Yep.
Could I find something local and make +/- same ?
    Yep.
    Do I want to ?
    Nope :)

The only way I see that would help you is by using the help of a Temp agency, I found a lot of the larger companies use them as that way on very short notice if a driver is not available to come in to work they just give them a call and they will find a driver to fill in.

The post is over a year old. I hope they found their drivers.

Its been one year and six pages of advice but never a whisper from the one hit wonder
There should be a filter on all forums that tracks these Cretans and puts a little tag on the first few posts they make on any site that lets people know they will most likely never be back
