Every companies training program is run like this if you go that route. There is another way you can get your cdl.

You can go the private school route, like I did. You find a local school. Stay at home. Drive to and from everyday. It is costly. I, like most, couldnt afford it, so I got my cdl via the WIA program. Its a program, and all states have it, where you get a grant from the government to pay for school. They pay for training, your cdl if you pass, and even gas money.

But, you have to get it through your local unemployment office. You qualify if you are un-employed or if your income is below a certain threshold. In Ohio it was, at the time 30k. They may make you go to the un-employment office to do paperwork. The school will help you set it up.

The school also brings in recruiters from various companies and you choose who you work for. I will tell you now, all companies will send you to orientation, and the treatment you hate at Schneider is the same you will get with orientation.

It seems like you don't like to listen to advice, but if you want your cdl this is about the best route to go. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Btw, your trainer taught you the turns exactly right. The part about holding tight to the curb, I still use it every day, and as someone else said, the lane to lane is the law in most states.

Once you get your cdl you have to go out with a trainer. Most comapnies its 3 weeks. I went with Shaffer and it was 8 weeks. Your trainer will teach you all of the turns and how to set up for turns such as if turning on to a two lane road you want to be in the outside lane so you can go wide and not have to do the sharp turn.

    Anyways, good luck.

I never realized how insulting it was to be served coffee in a styrofoam cup. I have to find a new mechanic now. And I will definitely give the flying J a piece of my mind next time they have the audacity to ask me to PAY for one of their styrofoam cups of coffee.

Right? I guess when my department meets for our pre-shift I will have to let them know that inspite of the best medical benefits I have ever had, and that includes the ones from the teachers union, that inspite of the extra things they do for us that I find them demeaning cause I have to drink coffee from a styrofoam cup.

    Boondock Thanks this.

Why you (and most of others) think I didn't care of my own food?
I already wrote that I spent minimum $80-100 per week just to buy better food and drunk from their snack/deli sekf service for my breakfastand lunch.
I am informing others of a fact, not necessarily saying I didn't like it but took it but still complaining.

According the insurance policy they wanted a proof of hit and run to go after the person. Hotel did its best not to share the footage and Schneider didn't give crap too.

Classes were not starting early. It was starting actually 30 minutes late, for no reason, while they were getting paid but not us.

Because Instructor is under sun the whole time to train multiple people individually, doesn't mean the rest of the team need to stay under sun doing nothing. I lived in Phoenix and the rule is minimize outside time in any job or training in jul and aug, as much as you can. Don't be out in day time unless you are really doing something and waiting for nothing not doing something essential. They were mostly veteran and acting exactly like running a boot camp.

He was making me doing the whole pre-trip over again simply because I had a piece of paper in my hand when climbing to the truck. Meanwhile he was failing to properly teach me simple concepts like 45 deg backing.

I'll bet the donuts aren't individually wrapped either. They probably come in a big box with all the other donuts.
    How gauche.

Yep. This is exactly right. The sheer horror of having to get a donut that has touched another.

    Boondock and REO6205 Thank this.
