Just had an engine built. Not my original block. Everything under the hood is brand new. New turbo (171701). New exhaust manifold (PAI). New CAC. New muffler, same as what was on before (Donaldson M100465)
This rebuild took waaaay too long with way too many mistakes and excuses. Took my first trip today and the truck is LOUD. Annoyingly loud. Wasn’t like this before. I checked everything. No soot marks anywhere yet. Everything is tight.
The truck now has a bad vibration. It’s not smooth at all. New dampner. New bull gear. New motor mounts. Everything new.
I am at my wits end. Had to live off my engine fund since this took so long. Granted this is a 98 FLD120 that was abused when I got it. Engine has plenty of power. Accelerates great. The noise and vibration was not present with the old worn out engine and components.
Any help, advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m so mad I can’t think straight.

Where are you feeling the vibration?
I would check carrier bearing for missing shims and re-torque the u-joints. -

Did they use poly engine mounts?
Dino soar, skallagrime, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this. -
Push the clutch in. If it goes away, it's from the clutch to the input shaft. If it doesn't, it's the engine.
