390 pounds is about $312,000 worth of weed...That driver got a few thousand dollars to run that load, not a few hundred...probably $3,000 - $5,000.

Still not worth the risk....just sayin.

Well, not being experienced in that sort of business ...

From news reports of truckers, and "mules" arrested for such activities. Many admit running the goods for far less - and hundreds seem to be common in many cases. Though how that would matter - unless someone believes 20 years of prison time is worth $5000 either ...

I grew up close to the central produce terminal in Detroit - and either witnessed or heard of several busts, in which the drivers earned, and were in possession of very little cash (compared to the contraband cargo value) ...

With all the posts on this very forum, from drivers willing to work for peanuts at "legitimate" driving jobs - it's no stretch to imagine that many drivers will traffic drugs, people, etc. for the same.

if we enact the death penalty for narcotics smuggling maybe people will think differently about bringing that crap into our country, let alone peddling it on our streets to our kids.. a few swift, televised public executions should get the ball rolling.

Who says for sure he knew what was in the trl.??

Just because he owns the company he may have several units sitting in drop yards..
Gee did you think of that??

What about a company driver who is told go to such and such place and pick trl. ## whater ever and go for Detroit/ New York or where ever.
So you get stopped at a scale or check piont, and gee it has drugs..
Well your butt is going to jail, yet you never knew what was inside..

So then will the company help you or is your butt out swinging by its self???

    Good point ...

Makes you think - especially about all those loads out of SoCal, and TX around the Mexican border ...

How many drivers really know everything the run in their trailers?
