    Who bought the rebuild kit? You or Freightliner? What kit did you get? Manufacturers part # ???? Dealership can’t wipe their ### without a vin #. They’re useless. They probably won’t warranty anything that isn’t exactly by the book. Post the block serial number if possible. Get busy, someone may be able to identify what you need. What’s the problem with swapping kit for another from the Vendor? No refunds? What’s the problem? No reason you can’t get the proper kit with proper pistons. You can build it anyway you want. Dealer won’t help at all. Might need to tow it to another mechanic that will work with you. Don’t need the oil nozzle piston coolers. If you’re worried about too much power, you can have it turned down in the ecm settings. 500 isn’t too much. Get the right parts and slap that thing back together already.

    Exactly anything with any age for that matter can be a complete waste of time ordering parts off of engine serial or truck vin. You never know what some ####### has built it out of cause after all all 60 series are the same just like b model CATS are.

    Lesson of the day here kids and wanna be truckers tear it down then order parts. Evaluate what you do and do not need. A kit may be handy but rarely has everything you need. However the customer needs to go so just short cut it this once......it’s all fine till it ain’t

    I'll have a rough stab in the dark..:mad: & suggest the 2 most likely causes for your issue are..
    When Fitzgerald where Assembling Your Truck, either;

    1) The parts "gopher" got the incorrect Engine to be installed in your Truck... Or
    2) Whoever Stamped the data Plate looked at the wrong Paperwork & stamped the wrong Engine Number on the Plate....

    I very much Doubt anything nefarious Occurred..

    Suck It Up & Move On...o_O

    A good independent Shop would have;
    Diagnosed your Problem!
    Pulled It down
    Ordered the Correct Parts & had you Back at Work Weeks (if not Months) ago.............!!

    Just My 2 cents worth... Tax free Today.

    I did that. I ordered a compressor from Kenworth. Took it to the shop to put it on, and it was the wrong one. Fortunately Freightliner was across the freeway. (It's a Detroit). I should have known it wasn't the original engine. Door panel said 435, rocker cover said 355/400!

    So Fitzgerald QC is so good it's like in Young Frankenstein when Igor drops the brain on the floor then just grabs the abnormal one?
