Hello.
Looking for some feedback.
I was unloading for 6 hours yesterday. Then I was asked to go somewhere where I did not have enough hours..but my boss told me that if I had put myself into sleeper birth while I was getting unloaded that I would have enough driving time...even though I was not sleeping.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thx
Hours of service.

You were not off duty. We’re you just watching them unload?

If you are getting paid by the mile and not going into sleeper berth while being loaded or unloaded you might have a difficult time making a living as a OTR driver.Another Canadian driver and upnorthwpg Thank this.

Ahh. Well, I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I wouldn’t have watched an off load for six hours unless I was getting paid. I see your bosses point though.Another Canadian driver and Elroythekid Thank this.

If you are getting paid for those 6 hours you are on duty, if not book off. I get paid for any unloading/loading time however I don't have to book it as my employer does not question my time. Some employers will only pay hours that are booked on duty. You have to go over the fine points with employer.
Another Canadian driver, Phantom Trucker and upnorthwpg Thank this.
