    Ironically, Columbus died thinking he reached the Indies.
    If it wasn't for Columbus, we would have never saw the Columbian exchange, and the world would be such a very different place. Something as simple as the potato, which is native to the andes region and was cultivated by the Inca's would never have crossed our small scope of knowelge lest Columbus not tried to sail to the west Indies.
