Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Here is a rundown of what’s going on with me. This all started because of my back issue. Because of it, I was referred to a Rheumatologist. Blood test, X-rays and an MRI showed my problem, which is treatable. But, it also showed blood in my urine and what looked like a stone in my bladder. Off to a Urologist I go and it’s decided I will have a Cystoscopy. Had that this past Wednesday. Low and behold, no stone, either in my bladder or in my kidney. But what was found was a polyp on my bladder that could have been biopsied right there, except the location of the polyp was in such a position that I need to be perfectly still when it’s scrapped and that the only way to do it is via outpatient at the hospital under anesthesia. So, though there’s only a one percent chance it might be something more, it still needs to be checked. So on September 8th I’m having the procedure done. 2 day rest, then back at it. My medical leave starts on August 27th and ends on the 11th.

I spent the morning today on the phone with HR, safety and dispatch. I’m going to say this, Abilene has been absolutely top shelf with everything. Because I will be on medical leave, I will not be allowed to drive until the Dr. sends in an all clear note, and I do a drug test. Standard procedure. At least I’ll be home while that is taken care of. I had a boatload of paperwork to fill out, signed and sent back, I also had to fill out my short term disability so I can get 2 weeks of coin while sitting on my arse. Again, I’m not to shy one bit to say how Abilene has stepped in. Trucking is trucking, it sucks at times, this is completely different and they showed me something outstanding. So that’s my situation. I’ll be leaving Monday morning and be back home in a little less then 2 weeks. Peace and love.
