They ran the paper mill forever, that mill shut down, rail bankruptcy happened, rail bought out and is just staying afloat by transforming the company into basically a fleet maintenance & repair for other rail companies.

 

That's the nicest thing I've seen said of Californian's since I exited that state 30yrs ago! lol

 

This was US 30 in Idaho

 

I used to enjoy running out there to get produce once I got north of the grapevine. There's some real pretty country out there.

 

Taken a few years ago, this is likely the wreck that prompted Oregon DOT to relax the curve near the first exit on I-5 entering Oregon northbound.

 

I was driving some back Texas Road a few years ago. Can’t quite remember where. Somewhere south and west of Waco I think. Started driving about 2 AM and didn’t see another car for the 20 minutes I have been driving. Nothing out there but open land and a full moon. I slowed the truck down and just stopped right in the middle of the road. Turn the truck off, climbed out stood in the road and sipped my morning coffee and just listen to the pure absolute silence looking at the outline of what I could see from the moons light. Then I thought, “I get paid for this.” Lol
