It will definitely be a learning experience. Looks like the number is a little higher than you were hoping. I'm just glad you're teaching me while you're learning. Did you get your stuff ordered? I should've just picked it up and brought it to you. My load cancelled, actually 2 loads cancelled on me Friday. What a weekend...

Some of the rookies that see the "big bucks" in OS work should read this post and follow along.

Serious question here ? How big of deal would it be to go back to the agent/broker and say "hey these costs for permits and routing came in much higher then expected, we need to renegotiate the overall rate" or something to the like of that? Is that bad optics? Bad business? Obviously they wont like it, but at the end of the day we cant be losing money on a load, right ?

Please be cautious in scheduling delivery - as the police escorts do not always make themselves available on your desired schedule. I know several people that have waited days to weeks to get scheduled. Then they don’t always go all the way - some times they hand you off from district to district - California comes to mind.

Good luck with this one - whatever you don’t make financially, you will make in knowledge and experience

just remember knowledge is pain that you absorb
