it is a separate company that writes the policy for the single trip. You give them all the information make model serial number new/used

I pass the cost through to the broker - I am upfront when they ask for $1M in cargo that I need the xtra $3-400 to cover. You can get more written but it goes up in a nonlinear fashion and much more $2M is difficult. The super expensive loads are usually insured by the shipper - things like robotic equipment, helicopters, jet engines…

Easy, fast, and all online. I had to insure a $900K load and I believe it cost around $400.
